Concept Paper

As an Arts and Design students, it is obvious that we want to learn more about arts, film, music, etc. specifically, we wanted an additional information and techniques on how to do arts. Of course, anybody will say self-learning if we talk about photoshopping, sketching, editing, playing musical instruments or anything but isn’t the reason why there is arts and design track? To learn those professions? Why there is an arts and design track, if we’re not going to learn more about arts?

As we can see, Arts and Design track has less subjects than other tracks and this track only composed of one specialized subject and the rest are generalized subjects that are no connection to arts which is quite true but there are some subjects which sometimes includes arts like film and web designs. Well, according to our interviews in our class most of them said that they expected to learn more methods and strategies in arts. Me and my partner, aims to create several online sources that will help promote the awareness of the condition of this track to all students and create an online petition with the goal of adding a field in Arts and Design track in school.

Our group aims to create Change.org petition, a Facebook group and a blog to help achieve our goals. We will be creating infographics and other related data according to the problem in the fields of Arts and Design track. The scope of our project is to be able to reach the school’s administration, teachers, and students to sign our petition.

This project wanted to add more subjects and fields that are connected with arts. Subjects that will help us to comprehend, learn and practice arts. We highly suggest to learn about sketching that includes proper shading, outlining and edging and also to learn on how to edit a film and a photo. We will be requiring a month to develop this project and we will start our promotion right after we have uploaded the website. Our expenses may only include the printing of campaign materials and we will also be using free services already offered by Facebook, Wix.com, and Change.org.

Reflection

ICT plays a vital role in our everyday lives and I know someday, there will be a big change. This kind of system helps us and make our life more convenient and comfortable. It serves as a channel to convey and deliver message in a faster way using internet and cellular networks. Of course, ICT contributed so much in our world that every human being are using it now. ICT is for interaction and communication but look around, everybody is so busy tapping and scrolling their gadgets, everybody was so focused and no one even know that their gadgets are the one who is using and manipulating them. It has positive impact but there are always bad effects which sometimes deals a lot of damage in our lives. What is your opinion? Is it good? Or is it bad? ICT for the better? Or for worse?

My life is boring, dull, unchallenging, and no other interesting things that happened. Well, may be because I’m still young and 16 years of existence is not accepted to be said that I have a great experience in life. May be that’s the reason! But way back then, when I was an elementary student, I’m sociable and extrovert, I play with my friends and classmates and I can say that I have so many friends until I turned high school. High School days was very happy and very memorable but as years pass it became more boring for me. My routine is not changing, I woke up in the morning, I eat, go to school, listen to boring classes, go home, do assignments/projects, eat, sleep and repeat the cycle! Ugh! It’s annoying and frustrating! It’s boring! Until I try to make myself keep in touch with my gadget. I make an account on Facebook and post something that will came in my mind and done! I’m satisfied and okay now, but as days goes by, I realized that communicating with other people (strangers) is hard because many cases that happened before like cyber bullying. I was bullied in my elementary days and I don’t want that to happen again, imagine being bullied with different people you don’t know because of the things that you didn’t even do and even if you did something they will judge you, even without hearing the whole story. It’s very frustrating to see that kind of situation so I became more matured and made myself aware of my surroundings even in social media to avoid being bullied and scammed. In my life, ICT changed me, social media changed me, it made me stronger and matured to the point that I understand the situation of both sides the good side and the bad side. ICT changed me for the better and I know soon that it will make me to be the best version of me. But the world changed, ICT changed it. People nowadays are very easy to deceive and believe to the point that one post of a netizen can make people go crazy and comment on the post without hesitations, without even thinking before they click something. It change the way they think, it change because they are following something, they have the same beliefs, that if everybody are doing this then you will going to do it too, it’s called bandwagon. It’s like domino effect, the way the information flow is like domino effect, if someone knows it, everybody will know it and falls for it. You see, people is manipulated by their gadgets using ICT and I know sometimes I am being manipulated too but I know to myself that I’m not like other people, who do not think before they click and I know that you are too. ICT can change all of us even the whole word by using different technologies and by using someone’s click.

ICT change us for the better and it can also makes us the worse. The world is using it, everybody is using. It is for the better that it benefits us for communicating with our loved ones who are far away from us and it is for the worse because sometimes we are using it wrong and let ourselves to be manipulated. We are united by technologies but let us unite with great control and responsibility. Always remember that we are now living in a world full of lies and judgemental people, if you’re smarter and well educated, do not take other opinions seriously and state your own perception with good manners and proper conduct. Always think positive because with positive mind, positive outcomes will follow.
